We have a deep understanding of the dynamics of the retail and leisure sectors, and the many issues and challenges facing our town and city centres. We provide leading planning, market and development advice to both public and private sector clients on complex retail, leisure, mixed-use and town centre strategies.
Our in-house techniques for assessing capacity and impact have been developed and tested over a number of years. These are usually underpinned by health checks, household surveys, sequential assessments, market testing and consultation, in the context of PPS6. The robustness and realism of our advice is illustrated by the fact that we advised the Government on the recent Good Practice Guide on Retail Need and Impact Assessments.
Our advice for local planning authorities helps to guide and inform the preparation of Local Development Frameworks (LDFs) and Area Action Plans (AAPs), as well as assist decisions on planning applications for new retail, leisure and mixed-use developments.
