GVA Grimley’s fourth Thames Gateway report – Centrifugal Force: The Role of Town Centres in the Thames Gateway – examines ten towns in the Thames Gateway and concludes that the main town centres, which make up 50% of the total Thames Gateway population, are the major employment destinations in the regions, not the growth of local town centres as many argue.

One of the UK's largest shopping and leisure centres "Westfield London" opened its doors recently at White City, London. GVA Second London Wall have been the Project Managers and Employers Agents on this huge development since 2001 and from 2003 have maintained a full-time resident project team. The scale of the project is vast by any measure and its opening is a tremendous achievement for all involved. Over 20 million visitors are expected annually.

GVA Grimley’s Q3 Central London Office Commentary report reveals that in the third quarter of 2008, central London take-up totalled 2.1million sq ft, an improvement on the last quarter, but still down 17% on the five-year quarterly average of 2.5 million sq ft and 22% down on the 10-year quarterly average of 2.7 million sq ft.
