CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme

The CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme (CRC) is a UK-wide scheme to encourage organisations to reduce their carbon emissions. The CRC is effectively a mandatory carbon trading scheme which is designed to incentivise organisations in non-energy intensive sectors to reduce their emissions.

The partnership of Inenco and GVA Grimley brings together the expertise of the UK's leading energy consultant in preparing organisations for the CRC and complying with the necessary regulations with GVA Grimley's understanding of the role of property in running a carbon efficient estate. Together, the partnership is in a unique position of being able to guide organisations through the CRC process and assist them in the preparation of a comprehensive strategy for reducing carbon in a cost effective manner.

To help organisations to maximise the benefits and reduce the financial burden of the CRC, the GVA Grimley/Inenco partnership provides a joined up approach following three fundamental steps:

Compliance
Ensuring that you have all the data you need to calculate your emissions and complete all the returns in a timely and accurate manner. This also includes reviewing if you can gain any benefits from the Early Action Metric.

Improvement
There is a range of ways that you can reduce your energy consumption, some are low cost whilst others require investment. GVA Grimley and Inenco will provide experienced and professional resources to review the existing energy used and undertake a property efficiency check. This will identify opportunities for maximising efficiencies in your built estate, services infrastructure and the way your staff operate and engage with your buildings. We will provide an action plan that will allow your stakeholders to make business decisions on where improvements need to be made.

Trading and Procurement
Gauging how many allowances you need to buy at the beginning of every year and then selling and buying allowances on the secondary market requires a level of expertise similar to trading directly for energy. We can help to manage this trading activity as well as offering general advice on the procurement of your energy supplies.
